Los Angeles I.D. Theft Ringleader Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

A 54-year-old woman from Los Angeles recently pled guilty to one count of identity theft, which resulted in a sentence of three years in prison. The charges stemmed from three separate incidents, which occurred in Los Angeles in conjunction with at least one other person, according to SCVNews.com.

The woman stole wallets from multiple victims throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. Next, the 43-year-old who acted as her accomplice used her similar appearance to the victims to commit identity theft and take large sums of money. Thousands of dollars were reportedly stolen during multiple incidents in Crescenta Valley, Ventura County, and Santa Clarita Valley.

The 54-year-old woman will be back in court to determine restitution. The other woman will be in court to face two counts of identity theft, one count of credit card fraud, and one count of commercial burglary.
